Exercise 1. Return attention
Sit comfortably and try to relax your muscles. Select an item. If it is small, you can take it in your hand. Start to examine it very carefully. Peer into the details, in every millimeter of this subject. Imagine that you were given the task of drawing this object as accurately as possible to the original, but from memory. Completely “turn off” the brain so that it is not distracted by extraneous thoughts and focuses only on the subject, you will most likely fail the first time. But as soon as you feel that the attention has begun to dissipate, return it to the subject in question again. Each time you return your attention, change the viewing angle. This exercise takes about 10 minutes.
